Carmine's smile was bleary as he poured Laverne another drink. "Well, well; long time, no see."

"You already said that, Carmine." Laverne held the fruity sangria at an arm's length.

"So...whattya want?"

Laverne's nose curled up in distaste. "I came here to tell ya something."

Carmine smirked. "We ain't got nothin' to talk about, Laverne." He pointed out.

"We had a child once, Carmine. Remember that?"

His eyes darkened. "Don't you bring him up..."

"Guess what?! I got to. I came here lookin' for him!" Her eyes brimmed with tears. "Want to know where he is, Carmine?! He's six feet underground. He killed himself."

Carmine's eyes were cold. "I told ya to get rid of the kid." He said calmly. "You should've. Ya see why?"

She glared at him. "What happened ta you, Carmine?"

"I grew up." He slammed his shot down without a wince.

She stood. "I can see that this was pointless. Now I have someone I need to see even more."

"Who?"

"Shirley."

His hand slammed down viciously upon her hand. "Don't you dare."

"Leah?!" Lenny cried as he raced through the streets of New York. "Leah?!" His daughter had disappeared onto the streets. Just as panic gripped Lenny, he saw her familiar face, her haunted features.

As she stepped on a bus.

Lenny memorized the license number, noticed where it was heading, and took off in the direction of the greyhound station.

His daughter was headed to the one place she shouldn't be going. In the direction of Shirley Feeney's apartment.
