And yes, I couldn't quite figure out how to spell the name of Lenny's sovereign mini-nation, so I improvise.

Shirley stared at the ornate portrait of a Kosnowski ancestor hanging over the mantle. Lenny came of a stock similar to his current appearance; blonde, bluntly-featured, blue-eyed.

"Itz like a Nazi convention!"

Shirley glared over her shoulder at Carmine; despite herself, she was rather happy that she hadn't ended up marrying Carmine back at the castle. He sloshed toward her, stinking of gin.

"That's not a nice thing to say about Lenny's ancestors." Shirley pointed out.

"They ain't here to hear me." Carmine pointed out. She winced away from his embrace.

"I don't know...there's something wrong about it."

"Nah!" He insisted. "Now, what about that wedding?"

"Carmine...as if you couldn't take me running away from you as enough of a no..."

And she left him alone, pouting in front of the portrait.

Lenny, meanwhile, was roaming the hallways of the inn alone. Something compelled him to drift into the library. To take down an album.

To notice that a picture within it looked exactly like his mother.

"Young Kosnowski." He dropped the album in alarm. The voice came from a hunched over, approaching figure. Though humpbacked and with a crooked walk, the black-clothed figure had lively eyes and quick fingers. "You seek information of your mother."

He nodded, wordlessly.

"Then we have much to discuss." She drew him toward a table. "Come."

And he found himself following in her footsteps.
