CATEGORY: Drama
FEEDBACK: PLEASE?!
SETTING IN TIMELINE: Milwaukee cannon, late-season five.
SPOILLER/SUMMARY: Lenny and Laverne find themselves tools of the Big Good, though they're not entirely comfortable with their mission...
NOTES: In which I steal myth arch from "Joan of Arcadia" and "One Life To Live". Don't worry, I only sort of joke ;-).

Heading up on the end. There will probably be an epilouge, and this is intentionally short and bridging. Yes, there will be an explanation for Carmine's behavior. It's not that he's a "jerk"; no, there's character motivation here.

"Great, I make my best friend cry, I got no clue how ta make it better!"

Lenny patted her shoulders. "Maybe that's how it's supposed ta be."

She shrugged away from his touch. "Yeah! I'm supposed ta be dead, too, I guess!"

He winced. "Vernie..."

"No!"

The angel, predictably, showed up at that point. "You've done well!"

"Is isn't 'well'. It's a mess."

"Laverne, you should learn to trust me..."

"Trust the devil, right? Isn't that what they always do? Tell you to trust them while they're killin' ya?"

Her eyes darkened.

"Who are you?"

"I told you who I am. But here's something that might help you. My name is Josephine."

Icicles dripped down Laverne's spine.

"Like your mother."

Lenny only watched her, placing a hand on Laverne's shoulder.

"Your next task is to help Carmine. You'll find him at Moby Dominick's. Good luck."

"How will we know him?" Lenny asked.

The girl smiled as she dissolved. "He'll be the one lying in his own beer."
