Life had gone blue when he is not there, like the shade of his eyes or the scrape of a snowflake on the soul.

Yet, it couldn't be so. The rattle of a branch and plink of a fallen icicle rang through the night. The sky was an odd rusty color, of a storm not yet arrived. She shivers beneath an old blanket, knows that it can't be any way but this passage beneath ice, a journey to the chill of the morning.

Water rattles through the pipes and his voice rings out

"What's simple is true. I love you."
