Laverne stared blankly ahead as she capped what felt like her millionth bottle that day. Whatever affection she had held for Fonzie, whatever emotion she held beyond her physical attraction to him, had been washed away by the sight of his bike sitting outside that girly club. His sin, as far as she was concerned, was unforgivable.
Shirley's eyes, filled with tears, stared off into their own unknown realm. Who had told the world about their problem? It had to have been Carmine; her fingers tightened involuntarily on the bottle, shattering it to pieces.
She didn't become aware of the throbbing pain in her hand until Laverne started screeching. Then she fainted into merciful nothingness.

Richie carefully turned over the photos he had taken the night before. They were flawless night shots of willow trees, perfect to illustrate his article about the city's plan to turn the park into a landfill.
He couldn't stop thinking about Shirley. Even though it was wrong, even though he was way out of her league; even if she was pregnant with another man's child. It didn't matter; he wanted to take care of her at some basic, primeval level.
Sighing to himself, he carefully hung the pictures up on a wire. The very last one on the roll was the one that broke his heart; a shot of Shirley, looking into the distance, her expression forlorn and saddened.
She looked like the last woman on the face of the earth.

Arthur Fonzarelli strolled out into his garage, whistling to himself. He tried not to feel guilty about his night out, but hey, it was clear to him that his relationship with DeFazio was good as dead.
His code of honor was important to him, but could he help being irresistible. Ey, chicks dig The Fonz!
Guilt hovered over him, still. He shook his head to clear his beer-clogged mind.
The guilt remained.
"Ey, it was just your bachelor party. You're gettin' married in a day."
And that seemed to quell his guilt.

"Hey, Carmine. You were great last night."
Carmine swallowed his coffee harshly, as Rosie appraised him with desire-filled eyes. She was already dressed and ready to face the rest of the world, while he remained beneath the sheets.
"Thanks."
She continued on nervously, "I know it's just a one-night stand. You don't have to prove nothing to me."
"No, Rose...that was fun. I had fun."
She laughed, "hey, I'll settle for 'fun'."
Discomfort grew between them, "well, you were a nice change from Ogden."
She stood to leave. "Rose?" he asked.
"Yeah?"
There were no more words. He simply pulled her back into the bed.
