Scene 1

INT. Laverne and Shirley's California Apartment - 6:15pm

Laverne and Shirley entered their apartment after a hard days work at Bardwell's Department Store. Shirley held her hand to her head and Laverne flopped on the couch not knowing that she sat on Boo Boo Kitty.

Shirley: I don't know about you, but I'm going upstairs and taking a bath.

Laverne lay down on the couch and closed her eyes.

Laverne: I'm going to find out if Elvis was going to ask me to marry him.

Shirley: Good. She'll be out for hours.

Shirley went upstairs while Laverne smiled and embraced Boo Boo Kitty.

A few minutes later, the front door opens and Lenny enters with a box of candy in his right hand. He sees Laverne asleep on the couch and slowly approaches her.

Lenny: My little 'Sleeping Beauty.'

He kneels down and takes her hand. Laverne peaks at Lenny and closes her eyes.

Lenny: Laverne, I know that you're asleep and all but I just wanted to tell you that you're a great girl and well, I love you. I never really felt that way toward any other girl before, Laverne. That's why when you wake up, I wanna ask you to be mine forever.

Laverne took a deep breath with a long sigh, opened her eyes, and looked adoringly at him.

Laverne: Lenny?

Lenny: Hi, Laverne.

Laverne: What are you doing here?

Lenny: Laverne, I have something that I want to ask you. I think you better sit up. Well, you don't gotta.

Laverne sat up and looked into Lenny's beautiful cylinders of suprising depth.

Lenny: [CONT'D] But first, I want you to eat a piece of chocolate.

He opens the box for her.

Laverne: Okay Len, if you say so.

Lenny hands her a piece of chocolate and she takes a bite.

Laverne: [CONT'D] Mmmm! This is really good...

Laverne bit something with her tooth that wasn't an almond. She spits it out and between her fingertips she held a 15-karot gold diamond ring.
Lenny took Laverne by the hand and got down on one knee.

Lenny: Laverne, you know, I've never really been good with words or nothin' but I love you and I want you to be my wife.

Laverne smiled and accepted.

Lenny: Let's get married tonight.

Laverne: Tonight?

Lenny: Yes. We could leave tonight. I have money in a sock that I keep in the freezer.

Laverne: This is crazy, but okay!

Lenny: Then I'll pick you up at 11pm.

Laverne: All right! I'll go pack!

Lenny exited while Laverne snuck upstairs to pack.

Scene 2
INT. Laverne and Shirley's Apartment - 10:59pm

Laverne is upstairs looking at Shirley who is fast asleep with a picture of Derek Dewoods and London, from 'London's Bridges,' close beside her. She turns out the light and quietly makes her way downstairs. There's a light tapping at the door. Laverne put down her bag and let Lenny in.

Lenny: Are you ready, Laverne?

Laverne nodded. Lenny grabbed her bag and soon they were out the door.

EXT. Outside Laverne and Shirley's Apartment building - 11:07pm

Visible by the glow of the streetlights sat a bookmobile with the motor still running.

Lenny: Put your stuff in the back.

Laverne: Where did you--nevermind, I don't wanna know. (Beat) Where are we going?

Lenny: It's a surprise.

Laverne smiled and yawned.

Lenny: [CONT'D] You can lie down in the back and when you wake up we'll be there.

Laverne got up and went into the back.

EXT. Memphis, Tennessee - 9am

Laverne woke up in an airplane. It's flying over 'The Great Smokey Mountains.'

Laverne: (looks at Lenny) Where are we?

Lenny: We're in an airplane, Laverne.

Laverne: I realize that. Where are we going?

Lenny: I might as well tell you. We're going to Memphis.

Laverne: But I thought that you were afraid of flying.

Lenny: Well Laverne, there was a reason for that. Do you remember Rita?

Laverne: The one that could write the alphabet with her feet?

Lenny: No that was Bernice. This was Rita Rozelli. Her father is a pilot and he said if Squig and I ever dated his daughter again, he'd run us down with his airplane. He also said we could fly anywhere for free if we were at least 2000 miles away from her. Well, we moved to California.

Laverne nodded and kissed him on the cheek.

Once they landed and grabbed their bags, Lenny blind folded Laverne and put her in a taxi where they traveled to their destination.

Scene 3
EXT. Graceland - 11:15am

Laverne is guided by Lenny out of the taxi and was lead into an open field.

Laverne: Are we there yet?

Lenny: Yes, Laverne.

He took off her blindfold and right in front of her sat a bright red hot air balloon. The field was covered with thousands of daisies and you could smell the fresh mountain air. Laverne: It's beautiful! I've always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon.

Laverne notices a priest standing near the balloon.

Laverne: [CONT'D] Why is a priest standing over there?

Lenny: This is the surprise! We're getting married in a hot air balloon!

Laverne: You're kidding, right?

Lenny: No. We're flying over Graceland and everything!

Laverne: Graceland?! Graceland?! Elvis' home?!

Lenny: Yeah, Laverne! I want this to be special!

Laverne gives Lenny a big hug.

Laverne: I love you!

The Priest approaches them.

Priest: Are you all ready Mr. Kosnowski?

Lenny: Yes, Padre.

Laverne: What about a wedding gown?

Lenny: All right, but I don't think I'd look very good in it.

Laverne: Lenny! I meant for me!

Lenny: I'm sure you'd look dazzling, Laverne. Now get into the basket.

Laverne looked at him funny and approached the basket. Inside was a white gown freckled with scores of silky rose petals and a mist of pure romanticism.

Laverne: Oh Len, it's beautiful!

Lenny: And the petals are for my 'Rosebud.'

Laverne smiled.

Lenny: Don't just stand there! Go put on the gown!

Laverne changed inside the Priest's car.

INT. Priest's Car - 11:45am

Laverne looks at herself in the front mirror to make sure that her hair was in place. She opens the door to get out and sees two feet that weren't her own. When Laverne glanced upward, her eyes were fixated on the King himself, Elvis Presley.

Laverne was in a state of shock and couldn't speak.

Elvis: Hello, Ma'am. Wa'll, that's a mighty fine dress you're wearin'.

Laverne: You're Elvis Presley!

Elvis: Yes, Ma'am. I do reckon I am. And who might you be?

Laverne: Uh, uh...Laverne DeFazio.

He took her hand and helped her out of the car.

Elvis: If I didn't know better, I'd say that you were gettin' married.

Laverne: Yes I am, but if you're available I could change my plans.

Elvis: No, ma'am. I'm happily married. But who ever snagged you is a real lucky man.

Laverne heard a noise, turned around to see Lenny coming towards her, and when she looked back, Elvis was gone.

Lenny: Laverne, are you ready?

Laverne: (smiling) Yes, I am.

Hand in hand, Laverne and Lenny walked back to the bright red hot air balloon. Lenny helped Laverne into the balloon. Then he and the Priest followed. They let down the sand bags and the balloon was finally floating off the ground.

The Priest got out his bible.

Priest: Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join together these two young couples, Leonard Kosnowski and Laverne DeFazio, in holy matrimony...

Laverne and Lenny became husband and wife while floating over Graceland. Together, with their love, they could surccumb all obstacles.

After the balloon landed, Laverne and Lenny took a private jet to Poland.

Meanwhile...

INT. Laverne and Shirley's Apartment - 2:30p

Shirley is sitting on the couch clutching Boo Boo Kitty tightly in her arms.

Shirley: Where could Laverne be?

The phone rings. Shirley picks up the receiver.

Shirley: Hello?

Laverne: Hey, Shirl!

Shirley: Laverne?!

Laverne: Yeah!

Shirley: Where are you?!

Laverne: On my honeymoon...in Poland!

Shirley: What?!

Laverne: It's a long story but Lenny and I eloped last night and got married...

Laverne told Shirley all about her adventure with Lenny and how she talked to Elvis in Graceland.

Laverne and Lenny are currently living in California. And years to come, Laverne would remember back on the day that she often recalls that Love was in the air.
